Voting now open for 2022 USATF Wing Awards and Athlete of the Year Awards

INDIANAPOLIS — Voting is now open for fans to help USATF select 2022's best U.S. athletes and performances with the Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year, Jackie Joyner-Kersee Female Athlete of the Year, and Wing Awards. USATF will present all awards at the 2022 Night of Legends on Saturday, December 3, as part of the Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. 
 
Presented annually since 1981, the Jesse Owens Award and Jackie Joyner-Kersee Award are USATF’s highest accolades. Recognizing the most outstanding male and female athletes, winners are selected by a combination of fan and media votes. 
 
Selected directly by fans, the Wing Awards honor a variety of top performances, including Best World Championships Performers on the track and on the field, as well as a Breakthrough Performer of the Year. 
 
Nominees are:

• Jackie Joyner-Kersee Female Athlete of the Year: Brooke Andersen, Chase Ealey, Sydney McLaughlin, Athing Mu, Katie Nageotte, Emily Sisson, and Kara Winger.
• Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year: Ryan Crouser, Grant Fisher, Grant Holloway, Fred Kerley, Noah Lyles, and Michael Norman. 
• Wing Award - World Championships Track Performer: Grant Holloway, Fred Kerley, Noah Lyles, Sydney McLaughlin, Athing Mu, and Michael Norman. 
• Wing Award - World Championships Field Performer: Brooke Andersen, Ryan Crouser, Chase Ealey, and Katie Nageotte.
• Wing Award - Breakthrough Performer of the Year: Josh Awotunde, Trevor Bassitt, Trey Cunningham, Grant Fisher, Tori Franklin, Anna Hall, Kara Winger, and Zach Ziemek.
