For Tuesdays with Toyota, we are spotlighting some of USATF's most dedicated members with a short feature on USATF.org and our social media channels. Here is our fourth feature of the year with 57-year-old road runner and volunteer Paul Isaac, a member of the USATF Mid-Atlantic Association from Folcroft, Pennsylvania. “I joined the Mid-Atlantic Association of USATF in 1999 to participate in its Road Grand Prix Circuit Series. I traveled to the races with two other guys who were also competing in it and continued to participate in every race in the Road Grand Prix Circuit Series until the end of 2002, thus winning the Grand Prix Circuit Series Completion Award 4 years in a row. By my involvement in the Mid-Atlantic Association I met the legendary Reverend Norman Green who was the President of the Association and knew everything about USATF inside and out. He became a great role model and mentor for me generally and as a newer athlete in the Association. In addition, he helped marry my wife and I. I continue to think about his positive influence on me! I’ve been on the Mid-Atlantic Association’s Long Distance Running Committee since 2017 and was instrumental in getting two women teammates from Philadelphia Masters on the committee. I've been very involved in my Association as an athlete, official, and LDR committee member and I’ve participated in our Association’s Road Grand Prix Circuit Series for a long time (since 1999, excluding 2020 when it was canceled because of the COVID 19 pandemic). I’m most thankful for the camaraderie in all my roles within the Association and for the opportunity to compete in such high quality USATF events in my association and on the national level. One of the highlights of my involvement with USATF is definitely when I attended the USATF Annual Meeting in 2018 in Columbus, OH. I met Jim Ryan and Dick Fosbury at the Night of Legends Gala and mingled with other famous athletes. In addition, the meeting itself was outstanding and I enjoyed every session I attended, including one on my favorite topic of Sports Psychology. I feel more honored than proud of all my involvement in USATF and its Mid-Atlantic Association and that I really enjoy competing in the USATF Masters National Championship events because I can meet other athletes from all over the country and compete with elite athletes in these high quality events.”
